The performance came just hours after Osbourne’s family confirmed the 76-year-old singer had died, stating he was “surrounded by love” at the time of his passing. Chris Martin introduced the cover by dedicating the entire show to Osbourne, calling him an “incredible genius” and “character-full gift to the world.”

“We send our love to his family,” Martin told the crowd, before closing the tribute with the words, “Ozzy, we love you, wherever you’re going.”

The surviving Black Sabbath members have paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne after his death at 76: “There won’t ever be another like him.”

Other musicians have taken to social media to pay their respects to one of the best to ever do it, too. Yungblud paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne in a post on Instagram, saying he was “truly heartbroken” by the news.

Other musicians sharing their love for the Prince of Darkness include Slipknot, Travis Barker, Sam Carter of Architects, Tom Morello, Alice Cooper, and Elton John. Just as in life at his final show, the music industry has rallied around the legend and his family in support of the man who’s music defined multiple generations.
