🙌🙌Boom local company polytec secures naming rights of Central Coast stadium! Venue deal to generate local business and boost tourism.

The Central Coast’s premier events stadium has been given a new name in a 15-year deal that is being hailed as a huge win/win for the region. From today, the famous waterfront venue at Gosford will be known as polytec Stadium – the Central Coast’s Home of Sport, Entertainment and Community Events.

The first major event to be held at polytec Stadium will be the South Sydney Rabbitohs' blockbuster NRL game against the Cronulla Sharks on Saturday 26 July.

Polytec is a leading Australian decorative surfaces brand that has its origins on the Central Coast. Already a major sponsor of local A-League team the Central Coast Mariners, polytec continues to deepen its commitment to the region and its people.

The company polytec is owned by the Borg Group, which was founded in 1989 by local brothers Michael and John Borg. The company employs more than 1400 people on the Central Coast.

“Being part of the stadium through one of our leading brands is a great way to give back to the community where many of our people live and work,” said Borg Group Managing Director, John Borg.

Set on the banks of the stunning Brisbane Water in Gosford, polytec Stadium has earned a reputation as one of the most picturesque sporting venues in the world.

THE upgrade of Avoca Drive is a step closer to becoming a reality, with infrastructure firm AECOM being awarded the contract to deliver the concept design and environmental assessment for the $130M project.

🙌😊😊WE’VE DONE IT! Mariners golden girls bring home a third successive A-League title

The unheralded Central Coast Mariners Women have stunned the football world by winning the Ninja A-League Championship after an epic penalty goal thriller in Melbourne.

A penalty shootout was required after the Mariners and Melbourne Victory were locked 1-1 after 120 minutes of heart-in-mouth football action before our local heroes stepped up to ice the Grand Final.

The Mariners women will now be feted at a community Grand Final celebration at Erina Fair this week, welcomed back home by Central Coast Mayor Lawrie McKinna – a former Mariners coach and Director of Football.

While fans packed into the Grand Final venue of AAMI Park in Melbourne and at the official Live Site at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford, hotels, clubs and restaurants were packed along the Central Coast as the drama of the Grand Final played out on Sunday evening.

From Gosford to Wyong, Terrigal, The Entrance, Ettalong Beach, Budgewoi and Bateau Bay, the fans were out in force in support of the Central Coast girls in yellow.

A third successive football championship – and a first-ever women’s title – was a grand occasion that the 350,000-plus residents on the Central Coast will never forget and it has left a football legacy for generations to come.
