The Technical Excellence Award acknowledges the outstanding work of people in the Editorial Department such as Assistants, Post Supervisors, VFX editors, Online Editors and Colourists.

We want to see innovative workflows, techniques, and processes that showcase the best our industry has to offer. It could be a new way to simplify a time intensive task, or it could be a large and complex production with many moving parts.

The application centres around detailing a problem and the solution employed on a production. The judges will evaluate the entry on three categories: Innovation, Difficulty, and Efficiency. To help articulate your case there is room to submit additional materials. What these are is up to you; they could be a workflow diagram, screenshots, before and after images etc.

Entry Fee: $80
Entries Close: Sunday 10th August

Why does Monitor Calibration matter?

Because colour matters.

Whether you're editing photos, grading films, designing campaigns, or prepping for print, you need colours that are accurate, consistent, and client-ready.

Without regular monitor calibration, what you see on your screen might not match the final result!

ColorEdge CG monitors come with a built-in calibration sensor that auto-calibrates at your preferred schedule. Pair up with ColorNavigator 7, our free Colour Management software, calibrate and manage your colour profile at ease and at your own time!

Script Sync is a powerful feature within Media Composer that indexes all text and audible dialog in your project automatically and then syncs each source clip to its associated line in the script. Once synced, you can quickly locate all relevant clips in seconds based on a word or phrase search, enabling you to compare performances in the context of your story.

Accomplished Assistant Editor Trent Mitchell (Strife, Apple Cider Vinegar, Mr Inbetween, The Nightingale) leads this workshop from the suites at Blue Post Sydney (Blue Post)with professional footage from a prominent Australian series. He will take you through the steps to set up and use this feature within a professional context.
We will also be giving away prizes courtesy of Avid

When: 7pm AEST, Wednesday 21st of May

Where: Online event is held via Zoom. The access link will be delivered via email one day prior to the event.
