As our ASE judges dive into the work of fellow editors in preparation for this year’s Ellie Awards, it seems like the perfect time for tools down and come together for our Sydney Social: 🌷 SPRING EDITION 🌸

News & current affairs, reality, documentary, promos, children's entertainment and feature editors - whatever your corner of post, come along and meet the people behind the cuts.

Whether you’ve been editing for decades or you’ve never been to an ASE social before, we’d love to see you there. All post-production people are welcome.

📍 Location: Keg & Brew Rooftop - 26 Foveaux St, Surry Hills
📅 Date: Sunday, 27 September
⏰ Time: 2-5 PM

No RSVP needed - just turn up on the day and look for the ASE blue T-shirts.

Accessibility: Elevator access to the rooftop from the ground floor. Ramp entrance via Foveaux Street.

The flowers blossoms have arrived in Canberra, so it’s time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and join us for our second Canberra Social: SPRING EDITION.

Whether you want to catch up with fellow Canberran socialites, compare edit notes or go completely off script, please join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. Feel free to bring along friends from other corners of the screen community – all are welcome to join us in the beer garden in Braddon.

As many Editors, Assistant Editors and post-production professionals often have short contracts, irregular pay or more than one income source it can be difficult to keep track of superannuation payments. A recent change to how superannuation gets paid aims to help.
Starting from July 1st 2026, super contributions must be paid at the same time as wages, salary or fees. 
If you are a sole trader and contracted for personal labour and skills, then super is generally payable. As is the case when you are a full-time, part-time or casual employee, regardless of how much you earn.
