In the thick of Autumn - in the rhythm of planting and harvesting, resting and waiting, lies a picture of the Lord’s desire to make our heart His.

Seeds of the gospel sown, a harvest of souls received, the death of our old lives and the maturing of our new one, and of course, the abiding in the life-giving Vine.

May the Lord find our hearts a well tended garden.

I am reminded of the importance of planting and watering in each season, rooted deep in the knowledge that it’s only the Holy Spirit that brings the increase.

May whatever He plants in you bear good fruit in season.

The verandahs of life.

The space between the now and the not yet. The spaces where we relax, sit or stand in the in-between. The space between the comfortable and moving beyond our comfort zone.

In these spaces we take a moment of stillness and can listen to hear Him speak clearly to form us and lead us before we step into the new.

So often I’ve rushed past the verandahs of life into the next thing without taking the time to stop, breathe, listen and take it in.

He’s in the now and the not yet - and He’s waiting in the in between.

Jesus prioritised being alone with the Father, but he also prioritised doing life with others. Community is indeed, very good ✨
