This morning as I was walking the bin down our long dirt driveway in the pitch black, I had my torch pointed at my feet. I could only see about a metre in front of me, just enough light to see where to take my next step.

It made me think, this is what walking by faith looks like.

We often want God to show us the whole road ahead. We want to know where we’re going, how things will work out and what’s waiting around the corner. But sometimes He only gives us enough light for the next step. And when we take that step, there is enough light for the one after that.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

We don't always need to see the whole path. We just need enough faith to take the next step. ❤️

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀. The history of the past few years has taught us that the words which Jesus spoke to his disciples are appropriate to us.
He said: “𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂; 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘄.”

But I trust that we shall not have the experience of those disciples who, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺, 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗺, but “𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱.”

Will the experience of these disciples be repeated that called forth from Christ these words: “𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁. 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗺....

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Then said Jesus unto the twelve, 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆?

Then Simon Peter answered him, 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱, 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗼? 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.

Monday mornings sunrise was glorious 🥰

Sometimes God paints the morning sky so beautifully that you simply have to stop and look.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
— Psalms 19:1

There is always hope by Still Waters. 🤍

11¶And that, knowing the time, that now 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

We want that the hearts of all to be stirred.
𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽? How long before you will realize your great need of divine power? Not the ministers only; but there is work for every soul.

There is a work to be done in the churches. A different testimony must go forth. I am terribly alarmed. Throughout the churches there are selfishness and sin, dishonesty, unbelief, criticism and fault-finding. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽. You who have long lost the spirit of prayer, pray, pray earnestly. Pity thy suffering cause; pity the church, pity the individual believers, thou Father of mercies. Take from us everything that defiles, deny us what thou wilt; but take not from us thy Holy Spirit.

Matthew 24:37–39: "As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."

But the days before the flood steal silently on as a thief in the night.
Noah is now making his last effort in warnings, entreaty, and appeal to the rejecters of God’s message.
With tearful eye, trembling lip, and quivering voice, he makes his last entreaty for them to believe and secure a refuge in the ark.

But they turn from him with impatience and contempt that he should be so egotistical as to suppose his family are the only ones right in the vast population of the earth.
They have no patience with his warnings, with his strange work of building an immense boat on dry ground.

Noah, they said, was insane.
Reason, science, and philosophy assured them Noah was a fanatic.
None of the wise men and honored of the earth believed the testimony of Noah. If these great men were at ease and had no fears, why should they be troubled?

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 🙏

The mother of Augustine prayed for her son’s conversion. She saw no evidence that the Spirit of God was impressing his heart, but she was not discouraged.

She laid her finger upon the texts, presenting before God His own words, and pleaded as only a mother can.
Her deep humiliation, her earnest importunities, her unwavering faith, prevailed, and the Lord gave her the desire of her heart.

Today He is just as ready to listen to the petitions of His people. His “𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲; 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿;” and if Christian parents seek Him earnestly, He will fill their mouths with arguments, and for His name’s sake will work mightily in their behalf in the conversion of their children.

"Should not a people seek unto their God?"

Wicked spirits gather round thee,
Legions of those foes to God -
Principalities most mighty -
Walk unseen the earth abroad;
They are gathering to the battle,
Strengthened for the last deep strife.
Christian, arm! Be watchful, ready,
Struggle manfully for life.

“𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗜 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗴𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the harlots believed him; and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”

These terrible truths struck home to the hearts of the hypocritical priests and rulers.

The first son in the parable represented the publicans and harlots who at first refused obedience to the teachings of John, but afterwards repented and were converted.

The second son represented the Jews who professed obedience and superior virtue, but insulted God by rejecting the gift of his Son. By their wicked works they forfeited the favor of Heaven. They despised the mercies of God.

The most thoughtless and abandoned are represented by Jesus as occupying a more favorable position before God than the haughty and self-righteous priests and rulers. ₃ₛₚ ₃₁.₂ ₋ ₃ₛₚ ₃₂.₁

All our rebellion against God’s plans arises from the fact that salvation is a free gift.

Only believe in the merits of the blood of Christ and cling to Jesus as your Saviour.
If your mind is convinced in regard to the doctrine, accept that which you do see, receive every ray of light which Heaven has given you.

You have nought to do with whether others accept or not. You must believe for yourself and not make others your criterion.
You cannot purchase salvation.

When you accept Christ it will be under the sense of your inability to save yourself by your own righteousness.

When you can from the heart sing

“Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee. ...
In my hand no price I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling”

then you have learned the Way, the Truth, and the Life. ³ᴸᵗᴹˢ, ᴸᵗ ⁵⁷, ¹⁸⁷⁶, ᵖᵃʳ. ³
