A Bit Too Squeezy

While at the Perth Motorplex last night for Fast Friday, we thought we would show you where the journey was going to start and why it didn't.

When I was a slightly shorter 12 year old, the plan was to race these, back then called quarter midgets, 100cc engine, no suspension but a lot of fun! Although they have changed a little, the size is still the same. Dad did build a chassis and bought the motor only to realise that my latest growth spurt was too much for this form of racing.

Being 6 foot 7 inches tall has and will always be a barrier to some classes of speedway but doesn't mean you can't!

It was great to see the Formula F125 have a run at the Plex, these divisions inject new blood into the sport and it's always good to see the sport grow!

BA Got Back!

Over the past fortnight, we have focused on removing old and broken fibreglass and optimizing the car's rear weight distribution. Essential components were replaced to ensure optimal functionality. The next stages involve installing new side panels and bonnet, followed by preparation for a wrap.

2024 IS A WRAP!

Last Saturday we headed to Ellenbrook Speedway for the last meeting of the winter season. While it was a mixed night for us we were able to take some positives away from the night.

The next couple of months will see us do a lot of work on the car, which started on Sunday (picture below) replacing some components, replacing all the fibreglass and a wrap to start 2025 with a fresh look.

I will be keeping everyone updated with our progress over the summer months and we'll always be at a speedway most weekends 😎

A huge shout out to those that have helped all season long, Jack, Jade, Stephen, Simone, Dad and Rhys when not in the formula!

Of course let's not forget the supporters!

LAST RACE UNDER LIGHTS!

This coming Saturday the team will be heading to the final meeting at Ellenbrook Speedway for the 2024 season.

The Twilight meeting also doubles as the first round of the pro dirt series for late model sedans and the limited sprintcars.

It's sure to be an action packed afternoon so where else would you rather be?

Remember kids under 10 are FREE!

TWO DAYS IN THE SUN!

The weekend just gone we went to Ellenbrook Speedway in support of the Brian Rose Memorial RDA 100 for street stocks.

Saturday we were improving, generally half a second off the best laps.

The feature on Saturday saw us finish 6th, our best finish in a feature to date.

The right rear was taking a beating and would need to be replaced on Sunday.

Sunday we just couldn't find our rhythm in the first two heats. With mechanical issues forcing us to retire from the third heat and feature.

Congratulations to the winners in all classes.

We have a bit of work to do before the season finale at Ellenbrook on the 12th of October for the twilight meeting.

Next weekend we are off to Ellenbrook Speedway to support the RDA 100 Brian Rose Memorial on both Saturday and Sunday.

In the meantime, I use iRacing to keep sharp and practising avoiding carnage (it worked well last meeting... 🫢) it can't really hurt 🤷🏻‍♂️

PRODUCTION SEDAN CLASSIC ONE TO REMEMBER!

As you know we found the wall in our third and final heat. While we had no where to go it certainly wasn't ideal.

This season has been a big learning experience and we are happy that until Sunday we had kept the car relatively straight.

When we hit the car in front and then the wall I suspected that would be the end for the day at least.

Thankfully the structure was still good and steering was all in good condition. We went about removing the munched up bumper and cover the broken bonnet with race tape so we could run in the feature.

Due to the dnf we started towards the rear for the 30 lapper but managed to climb to 9th and took home $150 in prize money for our efforts, narrowly missing out on the hard charger award by one position.

A huge thank you to the crew, dad, Stephen, Simone, jack and Jade. Thanks also to family for coming down to cheering me on!

Today we race for the dad's in our lives.

If it wasn't for mine I wouldn't have the passion for speedway And know how to live, learning from his example.

Together we found our passion for speedway some 30 years ago. Now we're at the track together and I enjoy it whatever the outcome.

This Sunday we head to Ellenbrook Speedway to contest the Hahn Electrical Production Sedan Classic. With 26 Productions putting their best foot forward, it's sure going to be fast racing all day!

All up there's over 100 cars nominated so it's sure going to be a great day's racing in the sun!

CHECK ON YOUR MATES!

Those with a keen eye may have noticed that we have on the dash.

Unfortunately in Australia we lose 9 people a day to the black dog, these people are mum's, dad's, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters.

Always check on your mates and family, if they seem a little withdrawn or isolated, call them and ask them what's up. Listen to them, you might not be able to resolve the problem but sometimes listening can help!

Let's aim to have 0 lives lost!
