Crazy right? 🤯

Goats are ruminants, meaning they have one stomach made up of four compartments that work together to break down fibrous plant material. Inside the rumen, microorganisms help ferment vegetation and unlock nutrients that would otherwise be difficult to digest.

This allows goats to process a wide variety of shrubs, weeds and woody vegetation, making them incredibly efficient browsers 👏🏻

And it's one of the main reasons they're so effective at vegetation management 🌱🐐

Most people walk through a paddock and see grass and weeds 🌱

Dan sees plant species, invasive vegetation, indicators of land health and opportunities for management. It's knowledge that's been built over years of working with the land, observing how different plants behave and understanding how the goats can be used most effectively.

Because good vegetation management isn't just about putting goats in a paddock.

A little throwback to one of our recent Wodonga jobs 🍃

It might sound funny, but targeted goat grazing is becoming a smarter way to manage vegetation, weeds, undergrowth and fire fuel loads without heavy machinery, excessive disturbance, or chemical treatments.

Our goats can access areas that machinery struggles to reach, work around existing vegetation, and provide an environmentally conscious alternative for many properties.

Not every site is suitable for goats, but when they are, they're often a cost effective, low impact solution that leaves both the land and wildlife better off 🐐

Plus, let's be honest... they're a lot cuter than a bulldozer 😏

The girls loaded up and heading off to their next clean up job 🌿

A lot of people don’t realise just how effective goats can be for vegetation management until they see them in action 👏

These maidens help tackle blackberries, overgrown grass, weeds, scrub and hard to reach areas that machinery often struggles to get into.

They’re especially handy on steep blocks, fence lines and overgrown backyards where a mower just won’t cut it anymore 🌱

Plus… they genuinely love the job. Snacks on arrival every time.
