You might think the narcissist is the most confident person you have ever met in the bedroom. They walk around like they are gods. They act like they are masters of intimacy, untouchable, and completely in control.

But what if I told you that behind all that intensity, behind all that "performance," they are actually trembling with fear?

And listen, I know what you’re thinking. As a survivor, you probably don’t believe that. You are asking, "How can a narcissist have s*xual fear when they were so good in bed?" Because for you, the bedroom was likely the only place the relationship ever felt "real."

It was the only time the cruelty stopped. It was the only time the distance vanished. You probably thought, "At least here, they love me. At least here, we are connected."

But that is exactly why they are so terrified. You see, that intensity you felt? That wasn’t passion. That was panic. They know that s*x is the only thing blinding you from the truth of who they really are.

They aren't making love to connect with you; they are performing to keep you from looking too closely at them. Because they know that if the performance stops, even for a second, you will look into their eyes and realize that nobody is home.

They aren't afraid of losing you—they are afraid that one day, mid-act, you will finally see that the "god" holding you is just an empty shell.

A narcissist is aware when someone exceptional has been part of their life. Your kindness, strength, and authenticity serve as a stark contrast to their own shortcomings. Being cognizant of your positive qualities creates turmoil within them. This inner conflict often manifests in their sarcasm, as they may remark, 'You think you're so perfect,' before attempting to highlight your perceived flaws. This behavior is not a genuine critique, but rather a projection of their own inadequacies. They are aware of their own deficiencies. They believe they have squandered something genuine, as your presence made it impossible for them to conceal their own darkness. Narcissists rely on illusions, control, and a sense of superiority to cope. When you cease to perpetuate these illusions or surpass them in brilliance, they will inevitably discard you.
