Angie Stone, the Grammy-nominated R&B and neo-soul singer renowned for her soulful voice and hits like “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” tragically passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 63. She was involved in a car accident in Montgomery, Alabama, while traveling with her band from a performance in Mobile to Atlanta.

Her legacy as a trailblazer in music continues to inspire, and she will be deeply missed by fans worldwide.

In 2011 she performed at the music jazz fest in Aruba. In the picture is my son Dylan Nedd where Angie Stone sang a song for him on stage.

Roberta Flack, the acclaimed American singer, passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on February 10, 1937, in Black Mountain, North Carolina, she was raised in a musical household; her mother was a church organist, and her father was a self-taught jazz pianist. A prodigious talent, Flack received a music scholarship at 15 to attend Howard University, making her one of the youngest students to enroll at the time. She initially aspired to be a concert pianist but transitioned to vocal performance, eventually teaching music and English in Washington, D.C., public schools.

Throughout her career, Flack was celebrated for her soulful interpretations and collaborations, notably with Donny Hathaway on hits like “Where Is the Love” and “The Closer I Get to You.” She was a pioneer in the fusion of soul, jazz, and folk music, influencing generations of artists.
In 2020, she received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her enduring impact on the music industry. Despite being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2022, which made it impossible for her to sing, Flack remained active through her foundation, supporting music education and animal welfare.
