Isla di Oro means "island of gold," and one look at this stretch of Aruba's southeast coast tells you why. 💛

This is where the island's ecosystems meet. A wide wetland mangrove area opens onto a shallow sand strip and a reef that feels a lot like nearby Mangel Halto. 🐠

There is history here too. Back in 1962, welder Adolfo Oduber finished a small bridge straight through the mangrove forest to reach the sea, convinced the spot could draw visitors. Isla di Oro later became a party island, and the abandoned restaurant built in the shape of a boat is still standing today as a reminder of those days.

A skilled glassblower shapes glowing, molten glass into something beautiful while you watch and learn about a craft that has been kept alive in Murano since the 13th century. Part gallery, part live experience, Studio Murano Art also has a restaurant on site, making it easy to turn your visit into a full evening of art and dinner.

Step into a lush tropical garden and let hundreds of butterflies flutter all around you. The Aruba Butterfly Farm is one of those easy, magical stops the whole family enjoys, with exotic species from all over the world drifting past as you walk through. 🦋🌸

Look out for the electric-blue Blue Morpho, the see-through Glasswing, and the enormous Atlas Moth, and get up close to caterpillars and jewel-like chrysalises. A guide walks you through the full life cycle from egg to butterfly, and there are koi ponds, hummingbirds, and the famous butterfly wing mural for that perfect photo. Best part: your ticket lets you come back as often as you like during your stay.
