🇦🇿🇸🇰 On August 18, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Slovakia to Azerbaijan, Elchin Gasimov, highlighting strategic partnership between the two nations.

President Aliyev described the appointment of a diplomat of Azerbaijani origin as ambassador to Azerbaijan as a sign of respect and trust toward the country from Slovakia, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction the visit of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to Azerbaijan in 2024.

The meeting highlighted the importance of Azerbaijani-Slovak energy cooperation and noted that Slovakia, as a member of the EU, supports the development of Azerbaijan-EU and Azerbaijan-NATO relations.

President Aliyev also referred to the documents signed on August 8 in Washington, supported by the US President, to advance the peace agenda with Armenia, emphasising that these open new prospects for sustainable peace in the region.

The ambassador conveyed greetings from the President and Prime Minister of Slovakia and reiterated that President Aliyev is invited to pay an official visit to the country, an invitation that the Azerbaijani leader gladly accepted.

The meeting also included discussions on cooperation in energy, agriculture, and the involvement of Slovak companies in reconstruction projects in Karabakh.

🇦🇿🇮🇱 On August 18, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Israel to Azerbaijan, Ronen Kraus.

During the meeting, Ilham Aliyev noted that the ties between the two countries have been expanding year by year, expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation, and emphasised his confidence that Azerbaijani-Israeli relations will deepen further in the future. The President added that there are currently broad opportunities to develop Azerbaijani-Israeli cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Ilham Aliyev also stated that Ronen Kraus arrived in Azerbaijan at a historic moment—when progress in the peace agenda with Armenia, supported by the United States, has been achieved—and emphasised that these successes open new opportunities for Azerbaijan and the entire South Caucasus in terms of strengthening ties.

The head of state expressed hope that Israeli companies, as before, will continue to actively operate in the country.

Ronen Kraus said that Azerbaijani-Israeli relations are indeed strategic and stressed that truly friendly relations have been established between the leaders and peoples of both countries.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the care and attention given to the Jewish community in Azerbaijan and highlighted that he has repeatedly visited Girmizi Gasaba (Red Town) in Guba and seen the conditions created there.

🇦🇿🇺🇦 On August 16, a telephone conversation was held between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Ukraine, Jeyhun Bayramov and Andrii Sybiha.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited by Caliber.Az, Sybiha congratulated Baku on the agreements signed between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as on the progress made in normalising relations with Armenia during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Washington.The ministers discussed current issues in the Azerbaijan-Ukraine partnership, including cooperation in political, economic, energy, transport, and humanitarian sectors.

Both sides highlighted the important role of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in strengthening bilateral ties.

Sybiha expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its humanitarian assistance and support in rebuilding territories affected by the conflict. He also updated Bayramov on the ongoing negotiations related to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
