The Zalomka is a karstic river in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as part of the Neretva river system it is one of the largest sinking rivers in the country and Dinarides. The Zalomka river originates near the Gatačko polje and flows through Nevesinje polje, where it disappears into numerous sinkholes, the largest of which is located in Biograd. During dry periods, the river may run dry, while in wet and rainy seasons it carries significantly more water. Part of the water that sinks in Nevesinje Field re-emerges at the spring of the Buna Spring.
