๐ฉ๐๐ก๐๐๐๐โฆ people think itโs constant adventures, moving every day and ticking places off a list.
And donโt get me wrong, we LOVE all that stuff, the mountains, hidden villages and random roads that make me question every life choice while Steveโs there going โitโll be fineโ when it absolutely wonโt be.
But one thing weโre really learning lately is thisโฆ just because you live a nomadic lifestyle doesnโt mean you always have to be moving.
Back in the UK life revolved around work and weather, now it revolves around Schengen days, and honestly 90 days between 29 countries when you live on the road full time feels ridiculous sometimes. You finally settle somewhere and Europeโs basically like โRIGHTโฆ TIMES UP.โ
Which is why we absolutely love countries like Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia because suddenly the pressure disappears a bit, we can stay longer, breathe more and stop treating life like a race.
Right now weโre having what feels like a proper holiday FROM vanlife itself, no driving, no route planning, no filming every five minutes, no editing until midnight, just slow mornings by the lake, books, coffee, walks with Dave the Rave and long conversations about what weโre having for tea approximately 7 hours before tea.
I think social media sometimes makes nomadic life look like you have to constantly be doing something incredible every day, but honestly some of the best moments are the quiet ones, reading for hours, watching the water, listening to nothing and doing absolutely nothing productive whatsoever.
And for the first time in ages weโre finally allowing ourselves to realise we donโt HAVE to move daily just because we can.
Itโs okay to pause, okay to stay still and okay to just live your life.
