Istighfar & Tawbah
The Most Beautiful Path Back to Allah!
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"I seek Allah's forgiveness and repent to Him more than seventy times a day."
— Sahih al-Bukhari, 6307
Just take a moment to reflect. If the one whose past and future sins had already been forgiven sought repentance so frequently, then how much more are we in need of this beautiful act of worship?
No human being is free from mistakes. Sometimes through our words, sometimes through our actions, sometimes intentionally, and sometimes unintentionally, we fall into sin. Yet the greatest blessing of a believer is that he has a Lord who is Most Compassionate and Most Merciful, a Lord who loves those who turn to Him in repentance. So when we fall into sin, we should not lose hope. Rather, returning to Him again and again is one of the defining qualities of a true believer.
Don't Let a Single Day Pass Without Tawbah
Yet each day of our lives seems like an endless story of responsibilities and busyness. Between work, studies, business, and family, we often don't even realize when an entire day passes without making tawbah.
To avoid forgetting important tasks, we do so many things. We set reminders on our phones, schedule alarms, and leave ourselves notes. Then doesn't the act of worship that can bring goodness to both our worldly life and our Hereafter deserve a gentle reminder as well?
