বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা
গতকাল, আমার জীবনের এক গভীর শোকের মুহূর্তে, আমি আমার মায়ের শেষ বিদায় দিতে পেরেছি। এটি এমন এক ঐতিহাসিক বিদায়, যা দেশের মানুষের জন্য যথাযথ শ্রদ্ধা ও মর্যাদার সঙ্গে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। আর সেটি সম্ভব হয়েছে যাঁদের যত্ন, দায়িত্ববোধ ও পেশাদারিত্বের কারণে; তাদের সবাইকে আমি অন্তরের গভীর থেকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই।
দেশনেত্রীর অন্তিম যাত্রায় অবিরত দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী, নৌবাহিনী ও বিমানবাহিনীর কর্মকর্তা ও সদস্যরা। আপনারা শুধু শৃঙ্খলা বজায় রাখেননি, শোকময় পরিবেশেও মানবিকতার উদাহরণ দেখিয়েছেন। আপনারা আমাদের সবাইকে নিরাপদে রেখেছেন এবং শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে জানাজায় অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ দিয়েছেন।
নিরাপত্তা ও আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর সকল নারী ও পুরুষ সদস্যদেরও আমি ধন্যবাদ জানাই, যার মাঝে রয়েছেন মাননীয় স্বরাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা, পুলিশ, বিজিবি, আনসার ও ভিডিপি, র্যাব এবং এপিবিএন। আপনাদের ধৈর্য, সততা ও দায়িত্ববোধের কারণে লক্ষ-লক্ষ মানুষ নিরাপদে একত্রিত হতে পেরেছে, স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে শোক প্রকাশ ও শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে পেরেছে, এবং শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে ফিরে যেতে পেরেছে।
যাঁদের কাজ অনেক সময় চোখে পড়ে না, ডিজিএফআই, এনএসআই এবং স্পেশাল ব্রাঞ্চের নিবেদিত সদস্যদের প্রতিও আমি সমানভাবে কৃতজ্ঞ। আপনাদের সতর্কতা ও দায়িত্ববোধের কারণে দিনটি নিরাপদ এবং নির্বিঘ্নভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
মাননীয় জাতীয় নিরাপত্তা উপদেষ্টা, সশস্ত্র বাহিনী বিভাগের পিএসও, ডিজি এসএসএফ, গৃহায়ণ ও গণপূর্ত, তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার, আইন, বিচার ও সংসদ বিষয়ক, সংস্কৃতি ও ধর্ম বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়সমূহের মাননীয় উপদেষ্টাগণ, ও কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের অবদানও আমি কৃতজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে স্মরণ করছি। আপনাদের সমন্বয় এবং উপস্থিতির মাধ্যমে, আমরা শান্তিতে শোক প্রকাশ ও শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে পেরেছি।
পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মচারীদেরও ধন্যবাদ। তাঁদের আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টার কারণে বিদেশি উচ্চপর্যায়ের প্রতিনিধিরা সরাসরি উপস্থিত হয়ে সমবেদনা জানাতে পেরেছেন। এটা প্রমাণ করে, দেশের সীমানার বাইরে থেকেও আমার মা’র প্রতি কতটা গভীর সম্মান ছিল।
কয়েক বর্গ কিলোমিটারজুড়ে ছড়িয়ে থাকা বিশাল জনসমুদ্রের মধ্যে এই অনুষ্ঠান কভার করা সাংবাদিকদের জন্য খুবই কঠিন ছিল। এত প্রতিকূল পরিস্থিতির মধ্যেও দেশ-বিদেশের মিডিয়াকর্মীরা আন্তরিকতা ও নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে জানাজার নামাজ ও দাফনের খবর, ছবি ও ভিডিও সারা বিশ্বে পৌঁছে দিয়েছেন। তাদের সবার প্রতি আমার আন্তরিক শ্রদ্ধা ও হৃদয়ের গভীর থেকে ধন্যবাদ।
আমি মাননীয় প্রধান উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক মুহাম্মদ ইউনুস এবং তাঁর মন্ত্রিসভার সকল সদস্যদেরও অন্তরের গভীর থেকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই। জাতীয় শোকের এই কঠিন সময়ে তাঁরা ব্যক্তিগতভাবে উপস্থিত থেকে প্রতিটি মুহূর্তে শান্তি ও যত্ন বজায় রাখতে সাহায্য করেছেন, যা আমাদের পরিবারের জন্য অমূল্য সমর্থন হিসেবে অনুভূত হয়েছে।
আমার পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে আপনাদের সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই; প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে নয়, মানুষ হিসেবে। গভীর শোকের এই সময়ে আপনারা যে সহমর্মিতা, সম্মান এবং দায়িত্ববোধ দেখিয়েছেন, তা আমাদের হৃদয় স্পর্শ করেছে।
আপনারা ছিলেন সেই শক্তি, যার কারণে আমাদের পরিবার এবং পুরো জাতি মর্যাদার সঙ্গে আমার মা’র স্মৃতিকে সম্মান জানাতে পেরেছে, আলহামদুলিল্লাহ।
In yesterday's moments of deep personal loss, I want to speak from the heart and thank the many individuals whose care and professionalism helped the country conduct itself through my mother’s final farewell.
I am deeply grateful to the officers and personnel of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force who stood with dignity and diligence throughout the day. Many of you were on duty for long hours, ensuring order and calm while remaining mindful of the grief that surrounded us. Your conduct reflected not only discipline, but kindness.
My sincere thanks also go to the men and women serving across our security and law-enforcement services: the Home Adviser’s office, the Police, BGB, Ansar & VDP, RAB, and APBN. You worked patiently and respectfully, helping millions of people gather and return safely, allowing families to mourn and pay their respects in peace.
I am equally thankful to those whose work is often unseen, the dedicated individuals of DGFI, NSI, and the Special Branch (SB). Your vigilance helped ensure the safety and smooth flow of the day.
I would also like to acknowledge the many public servants and staff working within the National Security Adviser’s office, PSO AFD, DG SSF, and the teams from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Your thoughtful coordination and steady presence helped ensure that everything was handled with care.
I am grateful to the officers and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose thoughtful efforts helped ensure that senior dignitaries from abroad were able to personally convey the condolences of their respective countries. Their presence reflected the deep respect my mother was held in beyond our borders.
Covering the event amid a vast crowd spread across several square kilometres was an immense challenge for journalists. Despite these harsh conditions, media professionals from home and abroad worked with dedication to document and share accurate coverage of the janaza prayers and burial worldwide. I extend my sincere respect and heartfelt thanks to all of them.
I also wish to thank Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, and the members of his cabinet, for attending in person and for helping to guide the day with steadiness and care during a moment of national mourning.
On behalf of my family, I thank each of you, not as institutions, but as people, for the empathy, respect, and sense of duty you showed at a time when we were grieving a great loss. Your efforts made it possible for our family, Alhamdilillah, and for the nation, to honour her memory with dignity.
