আমাদের কর্মস্থল আমাদের দৈনন্দিনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ক্ষেত্র। কিন্তু সেখানেও বহু জোড়া চোখের দৃষ্টিপথে আমরা নজরবন্দি। কারও
চোখে ঈর্ষা, কারও চোখে শুভেচ্ছা।
কখনও কখনও কি আমরা
ষড়যন্ত্রেরও শিকার হই.?

‘ডেটক্স ইয়োর কেরিয়ার’
গ্রন্থের লেখক প্যাট্রিক ফরসিথ একটি সুন্দর লাইন রেখেছেন তাঁর বইয়ে। ‘দ্য অফিস হোয়্যার পলিটিক্স ডু নট এক্সিস্ট, ডজ নট এক্সিস্ট’।

কথাটা ১০০ শতাংশ সত্যি। সুতরাং অফিস যদি সেই রাজনীতির রণক্ষেত্র হয়, তাহলে সেখানে যোদ্ধার মতোই আচরণ করা উচিত,
ভীরুর মতো নয়।

বস্তুত এখনকার কর্পোরেট হাউসগুলিতে রয়েছে Office Politics, রয়েছে সেরা হওয়ার দুরুহ প্রতিযোগিতা, উঁচুতে ওঠার ইঁদুর দৌড়।
কেউ কাউকে এক চিল তো ছাড়েই না,
উলটে নানাভাবে বিপর্যস্ত করার
চেষ্টা করে, যাতে সহকর্মীটি
ট্র্যাকে পিছিয়ে পড়ে বা
মাঝপথেই সরে
দাঁড়াতে
বাধ্য
হয়।

প্রেম আর যুদ্ধে পাপ পুণ্যের হিসেব কেউ করে না। Office Politics মানুষকে পাপে প্ররোচিত করে, হূদয়হীন, অমানবিক করে তোলে।

এক-এক সময় অফিস পলিটিক্স এতটাই মানসিক চাপের মুখে দাঁড় করিয়ে দেয়, যে মনে হয় ইস্তফাই হয়তো পরিত্রাণের একমাত্র রাস্তা।
তবে পরিস্থিতি যত প্রতিকূলই হোক, চাকরি ছেড়ে দেওয়ার কথা ভাবা যাবে না।
