What a story. What a journey. What a night in Miami!
Inter Miami, a club born in 2018, trophyless and struggling at the bottom of the Eastern Conference when Messi arrived in 2023, and now stands at the peak of American football. Two years later, they’ve collected the Leagues Cup, the Supporters’ Shield, the Eastern crown, and now, at last, the MLS Cup!
The Messi effect? It’s real. It’s historic. It’s destiny. Lionel Andrés Messi lifts the 48th trophy of his glittering career!
And how about Javier Mascherano? His first major trophy as a manager. One that will forever write his name into Inter Miami’s history books.
But that night is emotional for another reason.
Football says goodbye to two giants of the modern game. Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets bow out, champions one final time, and retiring after winning the MLS Cup with their brother by their side.
Messi’s words echo through the stadium, “Let me say goodbye and thanks to my friends, Jordi and Busquets. They have been special.”
El Ferrari. El Pulpo.
Warriors, winners, legends for Barcelona, for Spain, and now, forever, for Inter Miami.
What a night. What a legacy. What a farewell.
