BGB Seizes Indian Smuggled Goods Worth Over Tk 36 Lac in Sylhet Border Areas

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)’s Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB) has seized Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 36.51 Lac during separate operations in the Jaintapur and Kanaighat border areas of Sylhet. The seizures included 780 kg of Indian cumin, one Bangladeshi Tata pickup, one Indian cattle, 134 kg of Indian tea leaves and 489 pieces of Indian face wash. The goods were recovered in abandoned condition following intelligence-based operations. BGB said intelligence surveillance and anti-smuggling operations along the border will continue.

BGB Seizes 200,000 Yaba Tablets in Special Operation Along Ukhiya Border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)’s Ukhiya Battalion (64 BGB) has seized 200,000 yaba tablets during a special operation in the Palongkhali border area of Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. During a patrol on 26 August, BGB detected six individuals entering Bangladesh from Myanmar carrying suspicious packages and challenged them. The smugglers fled towards Myanmar after abandoning six packages. A subsequent search recovered 200,000 yaba tablets concealed inside the packages. BGB has intensified intelligence surveillance and operations to identify and bring those involved in the drug trafficking network to justice.

BGB Arrests Gold Smuggler with Gold Bars Worth Nearly Tk 45 Lac in Jashore

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)’s Jashore Battalion (49 BGB) has arrested a gold smuggler with two gold bars weighing 192.45 grams during a special operation. Acting on intelligence, BGB conducted an operation near Daitala Bridge on the Jashore-Narail highway and recovered the gold bars concealed on the suspect’s body, along with a smartphone and cash. The total seizure value was Tk 44.71 Lac. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the gold was being transported from Dhaka through Jashore and Benapole for smuggling into India. The arrested smuggler was handed over to Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station after a case was filed.

🟢BGB Seizes Indian Smuggled Goods Worth Nearly Tk 93 Lac, Including Sarees and Three-Piece Sets, in Cumilla

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian smuggled goods worth nearly Tk 93 Lac, along with vehicles, during separate anti-smuggling operations in the Cumilla border area. On 23 August, special patrol teams of Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) conducted operations in Chaura Bazar and Palpara, several kilometres inside Bangladesh, and recovered large quantities of Indian sarees, three-piece sets, Red Bull energy drinks and Move balm from abandoned vehicles. BGB said regular operations against smuggling and cross-border crimes are continuing. The seized goods will be handed over to the customs authorities in accordance with the applicable regulations.

BGB Seizes Contraband Worth Tk 46.82 Lakh in Sylhet Border Operations

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized contraband worth approximately Tk 46.82 lakh during separate operations in the Sylhet border area. On 21 August, patrol teams from several Border Outposts conducted operations based on intelligence and seized Indian cumin, cattle, buffaloes, chocolates, blankets, garlic, betel nuts, tea leaves and a barge boat carrying illegally transported sand and stone. BGB said intelligence surveillance and operations to protect the border and prevent smuggling and drug trafficking will continue.

BGB Joint Operation Seizes Snake Venom Worth Tk 38.57 Crore, Arrests Four International Smuggler.

A joint operation by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Dinajpur has led to the arrest of four members of an international smuggling syndicate and the seizure of approximately 5.7 kilograms of snake venom. The operation was conducted on 13 August in the Ambari area of Chirirbandar. Authorities also recovered three glass jars containing the prohibited substance, a private car, two motorcycles, four mobile phones and six SIM cards. The total estimated seizure value was Tk 385,703,800. During preliminary questioning, the detainees reportedly admitted to involvement in smuggling snake venom to neighboring countries. A laboratory examination conducted on 19 August at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University reportedly confirmed that the sample was snake venom.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a passenger and recovered 2,000 yaba tablets during a search of a passenger sleeper bus at the Whykong Checkpost in Cox’s Bazar. BGB personnel searched a Dhaka-bound Iconic Express bus travelling from Teknaf and found the yaba tablets cleverly concealed beneath a seat. A 33-year-old passenger from Munshiganj was arrested in connection with the seizure. During preliminary questioning, he reportedly admitted to collecting the yaba from Teknaf and carrying it to Dhaka for resale at a higher price. BGB has intensified intelligence surveillance to identify the drug suppliers and other individuals involved in the trafficking network.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested one person with one bottle of Indian Eskuf syrup and a used Suzuki motorcycle during an anti-drug operation along the Maheshpur border in Jhenaidah. The operation was conducted on 18 August by a patrol team of Benipur Border Outpost under Maheshpur Battalion (58 BGB), approximately 500 yards inside Bangladesh from Border Pillar 61/11-S. The detainee was taken into custody along with the seized items, and necessary legal action will follow.

🟢BGB Seizes Smuggled Drugs and Contraband Worth Tk 5.34 Lakh in Fulbari Border Operations

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a motorcycle, 174 Indian yaba tablets, 985 Indian narcotic tablets, a mobile phone and 1,516 bottles of Bangladeshi sexual stimulant syrup, while arresting one suspect during four separate anti-drug and anti-smuggling operations conducted by Fulbari Battalion (29 BGB). The operations were carried out on 18 August by patrol teams of Jalpaityli BOP, Katla Special Camp, Achintapur BOP and Chautha BOP. The total estimated seizure value of the recovered drugs and contraband was Tk 534,600. BGB said such operations against drug trafficking and smuggling will continue with determination and professionalism.
