Call for application to join gender studies online certificate course through RCSD, Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, and Thanakha International Gender Tekkatho. This interdisciplinary introduction examines the social, cultural, and historical construction of gender, intersecting with race, class, sexuality, and more. We'll delve into key concepts, including the social construction of masculinity and femininity, and analyze gender's impact across diverse contexts.
This course aims to:
- Introduce core gender studies concepts.
- Foster critical thinking.
- Sensitize students to power structures and gender-based violence.
- Analyze the link between gender equality and democracy.
Open to Myanmar students (female and male) with internet access. The course is offered in two 4-week sessions (2 hours/week) in Burmese/Myanmar and English. No tuition fees. Led by Dr. Ma Khin Mar Mar Kyi (University of Oxford, RCSD, and Women’s Studies Center, Chiang Mai University) and other gender scholars.
