**Here are some Basics essential first aid skills everyone should know*:

1. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

-Check for breathing and pulse. If none, begin CPR.

-Give 30 chest compressions (push hard and fast in the center of the chest).

-Follow with 2 rescue breaths (if trained).

-Continue until help arrives.

2. Choking (Heimlich Maneuver)

-If the person can't breathe, cough, or speak, perform abdominal thrusts.

-Stand behind them, wrap arms around the waist, and give quick upward thrusts just above the belly button.

-Repeat until the object is expelled.

3. Bleeding Control

-Apply direct pressure to the wound with a clean cloth.

-If bleeding doesn’t stop, add more cloth but don’t remove the first one.

-Raise the injured area above heart level if possible.

-If severe bleeding continues, apply a tourniquet (as a last resort).

4. Burns

-Cool the burn under running water for at least 10 minutes.

-Cover with a non-stick sterile dressing.

-Do not pop blisters or apply creams.

5. Fractures & Sprains

-Keep the injured limb immobilized.

-Apply a cold pack to reduce swelling.

-Use a splint if needed and seek medical help.

6. Shock

-Symptoms: Weak pulse, pale skin, fast breathing.

-Lay the person down, elevate legs slightly.

-Keep them warm and calm.

-Do not give food or water.

7. Poisoning

-Call emergency services immediately.

-If conscious, try to find out what was ingested.

-Do not induce vomiting unless advised by a doctor.

8. Electric Shock

-Do not touch the person if they are still in contact -with electricity.

-Turn off the power source.

-Check for breathing and perform CPR if needed.

9. Snake or Insect Bites

-Keep the victim calm and still.

-Do not suck out venom.

-Keep the bitten area below heart level.

-Seek medical help immediately.

10. Heat Stroke & Hypothermia

-Heat stroke: Move to shade, cool the body with water, and hydrate.

-Hypothermia: Wrap in warm blankets, remove wet clothing, and avoid direct heat.
