The Rohingya crisis remains severe, with escalating violence and atrocities in Myanmar. In recent months, Rohingya people in Rakhine State have been caught in the crossfire between the Burmese military and the Arakan Army, with drone strikes and artillery fire targeting Rohingya villages. Many have fled to Bangladesh, though the journey has been perilous, with several casualties reported, including over 200 deaths in a drone attack near the Naf River.

Conditions in the Cox’s Bazar refugee camps in Bangladesh have also worsened. Refugees face increased violence from armed groups, forced recruitment, and extortion. The humanitarian situation is dire, and the international community has been criticized for not doing enough to address the systemic persecution of the Rohingya.

There have been some steps toward justice, such as ongoing investigations by the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, but significant challenges remain.
