My name is Irfan Ali and I am from the world's largest Rohingya refugee camp. I live in Hakimpara Camp 14, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

I am currently a student at Education Lamp High School, where I work hard to achieve my goals through education. I believe that education is the key to creating a better future for the Rohingya community.

I am also proud to be a member of Rohingya Youth Empowerment League -RYEL . This organization encourages young people to learn, grow, and serve our community.

We are heartbroken by the news that a boat carrying around 280 Rohingya and Bangladeshi people sank in the Andaman Sea, with only a few survivors found. These were not numbers. They were mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children who felt so desperate that they risked the sea in search of safety and dignity.

This tragedy did not begin on the water. It began in the camps, where shrinking food rations, limited opportunities, insecurity and hopelessness push people toward dangerous journeys and into the hands of traffickers.

On behalf of Rohingya Youth Voices - RYV, we urge ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐…๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž, ๐”๐๐ˆ๐‚๐„๐… ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ก, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ ๐ž๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ซ ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฑโ€™๐ฌ ๐๐š๐ณ๐š๐ซ to strengthen food support and protection so no one feels forced to risk such deadly journeys.

We also urge the not to look away. When food is reduced and hope is removed, the sea becomes the only escape for many.

We mourn the lives lost. We pray for the survivors. And we demand that this must not happen again.
