[[ লাক্স (Lux) - Garments light Theory ]]
Most of us who work in the quality department in the RMG sector are usually familiar with the word Lux, but many of us may not know what Lux is.
➡️ In a word, Lux is a unit of measurement of energy or power. By definition, Lux is a unit of illuminance, equal to the direct illumination of a surface with the intensity of a candle's luminous flux one meter from a uniform point source, or one lumen per square meter. In photometry, on the other hand, lux is used as a measure of light intensity, as perceived by the human eye, and is considered a standard model of human visual brightness perception.
➡️ Lux, therefore, is considered as a unit of illumination or illuminance (to understand the amount or intensity of light flux) in the International System of Units (SI) or refers to the intensity of light flux per unit area. Illuminance is a measure of how much light is transmitted over a given area. One lux (Latin for “light”) is the amount of illuminance provided when one lumen is uniformly radiated across an area of one square meter. One lux equals one lumen per square meter or one lux equals one lumen per 10.8 square feet.
➡️ 1 lux is equal to 1 Lumen/m2, in other words - light intensity in a certain area. Again, one lux equals 0.0929 foot-candles.
➡️ One foot-candle (sometimes foot-candle; abbreviated fc, lm/ft2, or sometimes ft-c) is a non-SI unit of light or light intensity. Foot-candles are defined as one lumen per square foot. One foot-candle is equal to approximately 10.76 lux. Foot-candle units are commonly used for lighting purposes in parts of the world where traditional US units are used or are in use.
