Gazipur Safari Park, is one of the largest wildlife conservation parks in South Asia, located in Mouchak, Gazipur, about 50 km north of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Spanning approximately 3,810 acres, the park is designed to provide a semi-natural habitat for a diverse range of wildlife while promoting conservation, education, and eco-tourism. It is divided into several zones, including the Core Safari Area, where visitors can ride in caged vehicles to observe Bengal tigers, lions, elephants, and other exotic animals up close. Other attractions include the Herbivore Safari, home to giraffes, zebras, and deer; the Carnivore Safari, featuring tigers, lions, and leopards; as well as a Bird Park, Butterfly Park, and an Aquarium showcasing diverse species. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as elephant shows, boat rides, and guided tours along walking trails and watchtowers. The park serves as a research and breeding center for endangered species while offering facilities such as restaurants, picnic areas, and educational exhibits. Open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Gazipur Safari Park is a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts, families, and nature lovers seeking an immersive experience in a controlled, yet natural, setting.

Gazipur Safari Park or Safari Park, Gazipur is a safari park in Gazipur, Bangladesh.[2][3] This safari park is spread over 3,810 acres (1,540 ha) of Sal Forest which makes it one of the largest safari parks in the world and the largest in Asia.[4][5][6] It was inaugurated on October 31, 2013.[7] It is located about 40 km (25 mi) north of Bangladesh's capital city Dhaka near the Dhaka — Mymensingh Highway.[8]

The park is divided into 6 major sections: Core Safari, Safari Kingdom, Biodiversity Park, Extensive Asian Safari Park, Bangabandhu Square & Children's Park.[9]

The Lalbagh Fort (Bengali: লালবাগ কেল্লা, romanized: Lālbāg Kēllā) is a historic fort situated in the old city of Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1][2] Its name is derived from its neighbourhood Lalbagh, which means Red Garden. The term Lalbagh refers to reddish and pinkish hues in the Mughal architecture. The original fort was called Fort Aurangabad.[3] Its construction was started by Prince Muhammad Azam Shah, who was the son of Emperor Aurangzeb and a future Mughal emperor himself. After the prince was recalled by his father, the fort's construction was overseen by Shaista Khan. The death of Shaista Khan's daughter Pari Bibi (Fairy Lady) resulted in a halt to the construction process, apparently due to Shaista Khan's superstition that the fort brought bad omen. Pari Bibi was buried inside the fort.[4]

The story of Lalbagh Fort in Dhaka, Bangladesh, involves the construction of an unfinished Mughal fort in the 17th century.
Construction
Prince Muhammad Azam Shah, the son of Emperor Aurangzeb, started construction of the fort in 1678.
The fort was originally called Fort Aurangabad.
Shaista Khan, the successor of Muhammad Azam Shah, took over the project but never finished it.

The National Zoo of Bangladesh (Mirpur Chiriakhana) is closed every Sunday. However, if Sunday is a public holiday, the zoo is open on that Sunday. Open from 9 am to 6 pm in summer (April-October) and from 8 am to 5 pm in winter (November-March).
