Open letter to Hon'ble Chief Adviser
Subject: Call for effective measures to stop blasphemy against Allah and the Prophet (PBUH).
Hon'ble cheif Adviser,
As a responsible citizen and common Muslim of Bangladesh, I draw your attention to an important issue. Recently, it has been observed that some individuals and groups have been making insulting and insulting remarks against the Islamic religion, Almighty Allah and His Messenger (PBUH). Seeing such incidents one after the other, it appears to be very well-planned, far-fetched, motivated by ulterior motives and an attempt to create destabilization through destruction of communal harmony.
There is widespread public anger against one member of the Textbook Revision Committee in particular. His controversial role in revising textbooks raised public skepticism. His recent offensive and provocative Facebook post on social media has added fuel to the fire.
As the same kind of activities are repeated, there is justifiable anger, intense dissatisfaction and frustration among the religious people of the country. If this anger erupts, the internal stability of the country will be threatened and the image of Bangladesh will be damaged at the international level. It is an urgent duty to take earnest and effective steps to avoid such undesirable situation. Exemplary punishment of those involved in such provocative activities will bring relief to the public mind.
Hon'ble Principal Adviser,
All societies have certain ideals and values. It is a social custom and constitutional duty to protect it, to treat it with respect, not to despise it. A class of people in Bangladesh is constantly doing the opposite. Because of this, instability is created repeatedly in this country. We hope that this will not be repeated in new Bangladesh.
The current government was formed through a mass coup. Most of the martyrs of the coup, including Abu Saeed, were religious. The sacrifice and role of Islamic people was important in this revolution. Islam's message of equality has inspired them to move. That is why religious people have high expectations for this government. I hope that the government will show respect to the people's expectations, will try to implement the wishes of the people, the government will take such steps, seeing that the people will be able to maintain trust in the government. If people see their sentiments being hurt regularly, public expectations being trampled on, people being incited in a very well-planned manner but the government is not taking effective steps to stop it—then they will lose faith in the government. If the people of the country lose faith in the government and state administration, then the consequences can be dire. Therefore, it is very necessary to take effective measures in this regard while there is time.
We as citizens of the state expect the government to respect the religious sentiments of the people, take strict measures against religious insults, not involve anyone involved in religious insults in any government project, if they are involved, they will be punished by dismissal and as a permanent solution to such problems, they will enact laws with strict punishment against religious insults.
therefore,
Humble request to the Hon'ble Chief Counsel- Immediately take strict legal action to stop such blasphemous and humiliating activities and assure the countrymen that the government will make full efforts to protect their religious values and beliefs.
May Allah bless you and keep you engaged in the service of the nation.
Humble
Ahmadullah
