Thrilled to have contributed two chapters to the Handbook of Research on Migration, COVID-19 and Cities, edited by Prof. S. Irudaya Rajan and published by Edward Elgar Publishing.

Happy to share that our co-authored research article, “Challenges of Bangladeshi Migrant Labour in Southeast Asia,”has been published in Southeast Asia: A Multidisciplinary Journal by Emerald Publishing.

🔍 This paper critically explores the structural vulnerabilities, exploitative recruitment practices, wage theft, health risks, and human rights violations faced by Bangladeshi migrant workers in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. By combining classical and critical migration theories, we propose a multidimensional framework for understanding migrant precarity and call for urgent policy reforms.

Thrilled to announce the release of my new book! 📘
Social Safety Net Programs in Bangladesh: Fighting Food Insecurity during COVID-19, co-authored with Maruf Ahmad, is now published by Palgrave Macmillan.

This book explores how COVID-19 exposed the vulnerabilities of marginalized communities in Bangladesh and underscores the critical role of Social Safety Net Programs (SSNPs) in addressing poverty and food insecurity. Grounded in inclusive, evidence-based research, it sheds light on regional disparities, citizen perspectives, and policy recommendations aligned with SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.

We hope this work serves as a valuable resource for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers working in public policy, governance, social protection, and South Asian development.

🌱 New Publication Alert!
I am pleased to share that our latest paper titled "Challenges of Achieving SDGs in Bangladesh: An Assessment of Biodiversity under Sustainable Development Goal-15" has been published in the Bangladesh Journal of Public Administration (BJPA), Vol. 32(2), 2025.

In this work, co-authored with Zobaidul Kabir, we explore the critical challenges Bangladesh faces in achieving SDG-15, with a specific focus on biodiversity conservation. The paper highlights issues such as inadequate financing, data gaps, capacity limitations, and poor biodiversity management, and offers practical recommendations to address these gaps for sustainable development.
