*📍We’re in Sour (Tyre), Lebanon*
Once a city of 200,000 people, Sour has seen most of its residents forced to flee to Beirut and northern Lebanon due to the escalating conflict. Across Lebanon, more than 1.2 million people have been affected, with many displaced and seeking refuge in shelters. The crisis has pushed thousands to cross the border into Syria, while many remain stranded in dire conditions.
*🎥 Watch this update from Lebanon’s Country Director Matthew Hollingworth to see how WFP is responding*: our teams are working around the clock to deliver ready-to-eat meals, hot food, and emergency cash to nearly 160,000 people daily in shelters. But the scale of the crisis means we urgently need more support to continue reaching up to 1 million people across the country.
The need is immense, and your help can make a difference. With open ports and sustained funding, we can provide food and hope to those most in need.
