Tarique Rahman’s India Visit Hinges on Three Conditions: Foreign Ministry
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s possible India visit will take place only if three conditions are met, Foreign Ministry spokesperson AKM Shahidul Karim said.
Dhaka has urged New Delhi to create a conducive environment for the visit, including the return of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, the extradition of those accused in the murder of Osman Hadi, and the creation of a favorable atmosphere for the bilateral trip.
Bangladesh and India have been in contact in recent weeks over the possibility of Rahman’s visit, but Dhaka says recent public statements by Hasina have complicated the process.
