EYE ON THE BALL by Yousuf Rahman
A pictorial cricket book that will tell a lot of stories, EoTB was unveiled at a private event in Dhaka on Saturday. The book Launching Programme is Covered by Photoland Production.
By Yousuf's invitation and as part of the book, former West Indies player and Bangladesh's 1997 ICC Trophy winning coach Sir Cuthbert Gordon Greenidge and former Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza arrived in Dhaka for the launch.
Yousuf Rahman, Sir Gordon and Hamilton have also been invited to the Dhaka Lit Fest to discuss their take on the book at 12.30pm on Sunday where the book will also be made available to the awaiting readers.
EoTB is an unique book which contains writing from several international cricketers on Bangladesh. Apart from Sir Gordon, Hamilton and Zaheer the other notable contributors to the book are Trevor Chappel and Dav Whatmore from Australia, Andy Pycroft from the ICC Elite Panel, Cally Barlow (wife of late Eddie Barlow), John Barclay the opening batter of MCC that toured Bangladesh in 1977, renowned international cricket journalist Osman Samiuddin.
Among the Bangladeshi the key contributors are Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, Gazi Ashraf Lipu, Aminul Islam Bulbul, Ishtiaque Ahmed, Nazmun Noor Robin, Khandakar Nazrul Quader.
Bangladeshi sports photo journalist Shamsul Hoq Tanku has payed a vital role in providing impactful images for the book.
Eye on the Ball will be available in the country through various book outlets including Bookworm Bangladesh while it can also be purchased from Daraz Online Shopping from this week.
Members of the first Bangladesh cricket team of 1977 which played against MCC, were present at the event along with several other Bangladesh cricketers as guests.
