Myanmar's embattled junta on Thursday invited armed groups opposed to its rule to stop fighting and start talks to bring peace, after three-and-a-half years of conflict.

The unexpected offer comes after the junta suffered a series of major battlefield reverses to ethnic minority armed groups and pro-democracy "People's Defence Forces" that rose up to oppose the military's seizure of power in 2021.

The Global Rohingya Students’ Union (GRSU) commemorates 7th Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day on 25th August 2024.

GRSU calls on the Rohingya community, especially Rohingya youths to be ready and prepare for the freedom and liberation of the Rohingya community and native homeland. We have been suffering genocide long enough. No one except Rohingya youths can liberate the Rohingya community.

GRSU calls on Rohingya youths to join GRSU and struggle for the freedom and liberation of the community. GRSU strongly believes that the Rohingya community has its legitimate rights to struggle for the freedom and liberation of the Rohingya community and homeland.

GRSU calls on the International Community to support Rohingya youths by any means necessary in their struggle for freedom and liberation of the Rohingya community.
