Common Speaking Expressions
👉👉To be verb এরপরে বসা Pronoun টি Objective case না হয়ে Nominative case হবে। যেমন:
Wrong: It is me.
Correct: It is I.
👉👉অকৃতকার্য বোঝাতে Fail in বসে, Fail from নয়। যেমন:
Wrong: Rozalin failed from Mathematics last exam. Correct: Rozalin failed in Mathematics last exam.
👉👉Jealous এরপরে Appropriate Preposition হিসেবে of বসবে, from বসবে না। যেমন:
Wrong: You are very jealous from him.
Correct: You are very jealous of him.
👉👉 কোন স্থানের উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা করা বোঝাতে To না বসে, For বসবে। যেমন:
Wrong:He is leaving to Chittagong.
Correct He is leaving for Chittagong.
👉👉Opposite অর্থ যখন বিপরীত দিকে অবস্থিত বা উল্টোদিকে অবস্থিতএমন বোঝায়, তখন এরপর to বসে, from বসে না। যেমন:
Wrong: This building is opposite from the shop. Correct: This building is opposite to the shop.
👉👉বাক্যে একটি Negative word ব্যবহৃত হলে and না বসে, or বসবে। যেমন:
Wrong:- I don't like apple and pineapple, I want watermelon. Correct: I don't like apple or pineapple, I want watermelon.
👉👉সাধারণত পুরুষদের বোঝাতে Handsome শব্দটি ব্যবহার করা হয় এবং নারীদের বোঝাতে Beautiful, lovely, pretty ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমন:
Wrong: He is a lovely boy.
Correct: He is a handsome boy. Wrong: She is a handsome girl.
Correct: She is a pretty girl.
👉👉বাড়িতে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে At home ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমনঃ
Wrong: In the night, I will be home.
Correct: In the night, I will be at home.
👉👉Neither এরপর সবসময় nor বসে, or বসে না। যেমনঃ
Wrong: Robi does neither business or job. Correct: Robi does neither business nor job,
👉👉knock শব্দের পরে at বসে। যেমনঃ
Wrong: We are knocking the door.
Correct: We are knocking at the door.
👉👉 Without, Worth, Capable of, Fond of, Prevent from, Succeed in, Instead of, Think of, Enjoy, Excuse, Finish, Go on, Mind, Stop, Have difficulty in, Have the pleasure of, It is no good, It is no use, There is no harm in ইত্যাদির পরে verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়। যেমনঃ
I am capable of getting this job.
Enjoy playing football.
It's no use being a cheater.
There is no harm in giving money to poor.
👉👉Than একটি Conjunction এরপরে Nominative case বসে।
যেমনঃ Wrong: He is better than me.
Correct:- He is better than I.
👉👉Between এরপরে Objective case বসে। যেমনঃ Wrong: It is important between you and I. Correct: It is important between you and me.
👉👉As usual এর পরিবর্তে As usually ব্যবহার করা যাবে না। যেমনঃ Wrong: As usually, he left the place. Correct: As usual, he left the place.
👉👉According to me ব্যবহার করা ভুল, এর পরিবর্তে In my opinion বসাতে হবে। যেমনঃ
Wrong: According to me, he is brilliant.
Correct: In my opinion, he is brilliant.
👉👉The reason is because এর পরিবর্তে The reason is that ব্যবহার করতে হবে। যেমনঃ
Wrong: The reason is because I forgot it.
Correct: The reason is that I forgot it.
👉👉Subject কে একই বাক্যে পুনরাবৃত্তি করা যাবে না। যেমনঃ
Wrong: My father he was a doctor.
Correct: My father was a doctor.
👉👉Object এর পুনরাবৃত্তি করা যাবে না। যেমনঃ
Wrong: Rana he knows me well.
Correct: Rana knows me well.
👉👉Comparative sentence এ একের বেশি Comparative word ব্যবহার করা যাবে না। যেমনঃ
Wrong: You are more better than Rony.
Correct: You are better than Rony.
Teach শব্দের অর্থ 'শিক্ষা দেওয়া' এবং Learn অর্থ 'শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করা'। কাজেই ইংরেজি বাক্যে ব্যবহারের ক্ষেত্রে সাবধানতা অবলম্বন করতে হবে। যেমনঃ
Wrong: Mr. Rahman learned us English.
Correct: Mr. Rahman taught us English.
