United Healthcare Performs Bangladesh’s First-Ever Robotic Surgery
United Healthcare has successfully performed what it described as Bangladesh’s first-ever robotic surgery, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of advanced medical technology in the country’s healthcare sector.
Two robotic procedures were successfully carried out at United Healthcare in United City on Madani Avenue, using the state-of-the-art Medbot Toumai Endoscopic Surgical Robot, doctors involved in the procedures said.
One of the procedures was a robotic cholecystectomy, a minimally invasive surgery to remove the gallbladder, commonly performed to treat gallstones. The procedure was conducted on a 57-year-old man by a medical team at the hospital.
The landmark procedures highlight Bangladesh’s growing adoption of robotic-assisted surgery.
