In prehistoric times, there lived a certain kind of animal known as "THE SPECIES". But in time, they became extinct. But were they?

The species were gigantic in size and they closely resembled humans and bats. More human, less bat. They fed on humans mostly; sucking up their blood and sometime swallowing them up whole. They were doing very well at that time as humans were easy targets. Mankind hadn't quite developed their intelligence yet. So, The Species were living their prime time. But then,
due to the first GREAT ICE AGE, they had to resort to taking an eternal slumber in hopes of surviving the long winter.

When they woke up after the Meltdown, many were dead. They are usually blessed with a millennia of Lifespan so, most were able to survive the long sleep.
When the remaining few survivors of The Species stepped outside the world in search of food; the humans at that time were not as easy to hunt on. Humans have learned to stay as a group now and have learned how to work together.

Heavy protests from the Mankind resulted their hunt for food mostly ending in failure. But to meet their hunger they must hunt on humans!

Well, That's what they thought but due to the heavy defense of mankind; the Species resorted to hunting down pre-historic animals as alternative source of food. It's not like they cant drink animal blood; it's just that they considered animal blood impure and cheap. But nothing can be done; the sucking must go on.
Years went by as they started noticing changes to their body. Slowly they started resembling more bats and less human. Slowly they also started to lose their intelligence.

Then, the Meteor Shower reigned upon planet earth; wiping out most of the living creatures and inhabitants.
A lot of the Species died again due to this calamity and thus only few remained in the whole world. The Species survived as long as they could but the devastated planet earth did not have much food to offer. Mass Starvation resulted them to start losing their size too; as well as their once upon a time supreme strength. Slowly, turning them into regular size bats which we now know of.

They were almost disappearing and becoming extinct. But then.............................A PORTAL OPENED!!!
