আজ ১৮ই অক্টবর, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের কনিষ্ঠ পুত্র শেখ রাসেলের ৬০ তম জন্মদিন এবং ৩য় জাতীয় শেখ রাসেল দিবস। এ বছরের শেখ রাসেল দিবসের প্রতিপাদ্য, "শেখ রাসেল দীপ্তিময়, নির্ভীক, নির্মল, দুর্জয়।

এ দিবসকে সামনে রেখে সকল শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানেই কমবেশী প্রতিদ্বন্ধিতামূলক প্রতিযোগিতা ও দোয়া মাহফিল এর আয়োজন করা হয়। বীরশ্রেষ্ঠ মুন্সী আব্দুর রউফ পাবলিক কলেজও এর ব্যতিক্রম নয়। প্রতিবারের মতোই ধারাবাহিকতা বজায় রেখে এ দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে রচনা প্রতিযোগিতা,চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা ও দেয়ালিকা প্রদর্শন এর আয়োজন করা হয় যা কলেজের অডিটোরিয়াম প্রাঙ্গনে নির্মিত শেখ রাসেল স্মৃতি কর্ণারে প্রদর্শিত হয়। এছাড়া দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে আনন্দ র‍্যালি ও বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচী পালিত হয়। স্মৃতি কর্নারে পুষ্পস্তবক প্রদান করেন প্রতিষ্ঠানের মাননীয় অধ্যক্ষ মোহদয় লে.কর্ণেল মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল জাওয়াদ। এসব আয়োজন ও প্রতিযোগিতায় পুরস্কারের ব্যবস্থা থাকার দরুণ শিশুদের অংশগ্রহণ ও উৎসাহ ছিলো চোখে পড়ার মতো।

শেখ রাসেল ১৯৬৪ সালের ১৮ই অক্টোবর পরিবারের মুখ উজ্জ্বল করে শেখ পরিবারের ধানমন্ডি ৩২ নম্বরের বাড়িতে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন।পরিবারের সর্বকনিষ্ঠ সদস্য হিসেবে তিনি ছিলেন সকলের আদরের মধ্যমণি। তিনি ছিলেন একজন প্রতিভাবান ও সম্ভাবনাময় শিশু। ছাত্রজীবনে ছোট্ট রাসেলের ছিল অভাবনীয় এক অনুসন্ধিৎসু মন। ইতিহাস, ভুগোল ও বিজ্ঞানের প্রতি ছিলো তার প্রবল আগ্রহ। তাত্ত্বিক পড়াশোনার পাশাপাশি খেলাধুলা ও নাটকসহ সহশিক্ষামূলক কর্মকান্ডে তিনি ছিলেন সক্রিয়।
১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ই আগষ্ট কতিপয় বিপথগামী সেনাসদস্যদের অভ্যুত্থানের কারণে ধানমন্ডি ৩২ নম্বর বাড়িতে সপরিবারে নিহত হন শেখ রাসেল।তখন তিনি স্বনামধন্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান ইউনিভার্সিটি ল্যবরেটরি স্কুলের চতুর্থ শ্রেণীর শিক্ষার্থী ছিলেন। এ ঘৃণ্য হত্যকান্ডের কারণে জাতি হারায় একজজন সম্ভাবনাময়ী তরুণ। আমরা তার আত্নার মাগফিরাত কামনা করি
আজকের এ বিশেষ দিনে রউফ পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে জানাই, "শুভ জন্মদিন, রাসেল।"

"সাহিত্য সমাজের দর্পণ"
এই মুলমন্ত্রে দীক্ষিত রউফ কলেজ সাহিত্য ক্লাব। আজ ক্লাবটির উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথির মর্যাদায় ছিলেন প্রতিষ্ঠানের মাননীয় অধ্যক্ষ লেফটেনেন্ট কর্নেল মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল জাওয়াদ। মাননীয় অধ্যক্ষ মহোদয় এর পাশাপাশি সেখানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ক্লাবটির মডারেটর, বাংলা বিষয়ের প্রভাষক জনাব ফারুক সুমন স্যার, সহকারী প্রধান শিক্ষক ড তানজিলা আলমাজী, ইংরেজি বিষয়ের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক মোঃ আজিজুর রহমান সহ প্রতিষ্ঠানের আরো বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের শিক্ষকবৃন্দ। অনুষ্ঠানে শিক্ষার্থীদের উপস্থিতিও ছিলো লক্ষণীয়।

অনুষ্ঠান সূচনা হয়, পবিত্র গ্রন্থ কুরআন থেকে তিলাওয়াত এর মধ্য দিয়ে। অতঃপর ক্লাবটির মডারেটর, ফারুক সুমন স্যার তাঁর সুচনামুলক বক্তব্য দিলেন। তাঁর বক্তব্যের মধ্য দিয়ে ক্লাবটির সুদূরপ্রসারী উদ্দেশ্য খুবই চমকপ্রদ ভাবে ফুটিয়ে তোলেন তিনি। তার বক্তব্যের মধে ক্লাবের বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রম পরিলক্ষিত হয় এর মধ্যে অন্যতম ছিলো মাসিক সাহিত্য সভা, দেয়ালিকার মাধমে শিক্ষার্থীদের সুপ্ত প্রতিভাকে তুলে ধরা এছাড়াও ছিলো সাহিত্য বিষয়ক কুইজ ইত্যাদি। এরপর মাননীয় অধ্যক্ষ মহোদয় তার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বক্তব্য দিলেন এবং মড়ক উন্মোচন এর মাধ্যমে রউফ কলেজ সাহিত্য ক্লাবের শুভ উদ্বোধন ঘোষণা করলেন। পরবর্তীতে ইংরেজি বিষয়ের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক মোঃ আজিজুর রহমান ও সহকারী প্রধান শিক্ষক ড তানজিলা আলমাজী একেএকে তাঁদের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বক্তব্য রাখলেন। অতঃপর ফটোসেশন এর মধ্য দিয়ে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি ঘটে।

“BMARPC Freshmen Ceremony Welcomes New Faces to a Promising Journey"

The freshmen ceremony at BMARPC (Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College) was a vibrant celebration, marking the beginning of an exciting academic adventure for the incoming students. The campus buzzed with enthusiasm as faculty, staff, and seasoned students gathered to extend a warm welcome to the newest members of the Roufian family.

The event kicked off with an inspiring address from the college principal Lt Col Md Abdul Jawad, AEC, highlighting the institution's commitment to innovation, excellence, and pushing the boundaries for the greater success. The freshmen were encouraged to embrace challenges, cultivate curiosity, and foster a collaborative spirit that defines the BMARPC community. The chief guest of the ceremony was none other than the chairman of the institution, Brigadier General Tanveer Gani Chowdhury.

Following the address of the principal, the freshmen were performed to a spectacular display of various cultural activities, showcasing the environment they would gain during their time at BMARPC. The colorful decoration served a new aura in their academic and professional pursuits.

In the SSC examination of 2023, a total of 610 (315 male and 295 female) students of Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College participated amongst them 609 students appeared for the exam, out of which 313 were male and 288 were female. Among these examinees, an impressive 601, the average of 98.69% of students successfully passed the exam. This high pass rate demonstrates the dedication and hard work of the students. In this year 344 students of Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College got GPA-5, among which 178 were male and 166 were female.

Breaking down the results by groups, we see that 14 students excelled in the Business Studies category, 328 students demonstrated outstanding performance in the Science stream, and 2 students showed remarkable achievement in the Humanities field.

Furthermore, when considering the gender distribution of the successful candidates, 178 male students and 166 female students achieved the coveted GPA 5, showcasing a balanced distribution of excellence across genders.

Overall, the SSC examination of 2023 witnessed a remarkable accomplishment with a significant number of students passing with flying colors and achieving a GPA-5 across various subjects. This success is a testament to the dedication and determination of the students, as well as the effective teaching and hard work provided by the honorable faculty, Furthermost the principal of BMARPC.

As passionate storytellers and aspiring journalists, we come together to explore the world of media, reporting, and communication. Our mission is to foster a platform for knowledge sharing, journalistic excellence, and the pursuit of truth.

• College History:

Birshrestha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College holds a rich legacy of educational excellence that dates back to its establishment. Our college was founded with the vision of providing quality education and nurturing young minds to become leaders of tomorrow. Named after the heroic martyr, Birshrestha Munshi Abdur Rouf, who valiantly sacrificed his life during the Liberation War of Bangladesh, the college stands as a symbol of courage, determination, and educational prowess.

Birshrestha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College was established as Bangladesh Rifles High School on 1 January, 1984 with a view to education the children of BGB members under the direct and close supervision of border Guard Bangladesh. Later it was upgraded to college level on 3 September. 1994. The morning Shift, Opened in 1995, Offers education solely for girls from class Six to Ten and co-education from KG to Class Five. The day shift comprising class six to class ten. However, offers education for the boys only. A regards the college section, the morning shift and the day shift re fixed for the girls and boys respectively.

Since its inception, our college has been dedicated to creating an environment that encourages intellectual growth, create discipline amongst the students, creative expression, and community engagement. With a team of dedicated educators and a diverse student body, we strive to uphold the values of integrity, knowledge, and discipline.
