“ABIM Congratulatory Statement on DUCSU Election Results”
Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Bangladesh Chhatra Shibir for its overwhelming victory in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections, securing 23 out of 28 posts, including the top three leadership positions. This resounding success reflects the deep trust and confidence the student community has placed in principled, value-based leadership.
ABIM fondly recalls attending the Islami Chhatra Shibir Central Member Conference in Dhaka eight months ago, the first of its kind since 2010. There, we witnessed a remarkable spirit of renewal as leaders and delegates gathered to elect a new central leadership and chart a bold vision for the future. During that visit, we also had the privilege to visit Dhaka University and engage with both university officials and students, further deepening our appreciation of the vibrant intellectual and activist tradition that continues to shape student leadership in Bangladesh.
We believe this achievement is not merely an electoral milestone but part of Shibir’s long-standing struggle for justice, dignity, and the empowerment of youth in Bangladesh. ABIM also recognizes the active participation of other student organizations and independents, reflecting the vibrancy of democratic culture within Dhaka University.
As a fellow youth movement committed to upholding truth and justice, ABIM stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Bangladesh. We pray that this renewed mandate strengthens student welfare, enriches democratic traditions, and contributes to the broader cause of justice and humanity.
