A Facebook Ads Campaign is a structured series of paid advertisements run through Meta Ads Manager to achieve a specific marketing goal, such as building brand awareness, generating leads, driving website traffic, or boosting e-commerce sales.
Core Structure
A Facebook campaign is built on a 3-tier hierarchy:
Campaign Level: Defines the primary objective (e.g., Sales, Leads, Traffic, Engagement, Awareness, App Promotion) and budget type (Advantage Campaign Budget vs. Ad Set Budget).
Ad Set Level: Determines who sees the ads, where they appear, and how much is spent. Key settings include:
Audience Targeting: Demographics, locations, interests, custom audiences (retargeting website visitors/customer lists), or lookalike audiences.
Placements: Automatic (Advantage+) or manual placement across Facebook feeds, Stories, Reels, Messenger, and Instagram.
Schedule & Budget: Daily or lifetime spend limits and start/end dates.
Ad Level: The actual creative asset that the audience interacts with, including images, video reels, carousels, ad copy, headline, and a Call-to-Action (CTA) button (e.g., "Shop Now", "Sign Up").
