This is definitely the most underrated movie of 2023. I started watching it because it had my two favorites, Christian Bale and Edger Allen Poe.

Yes! You heard it right.

Adapted from the Namesake novel from author Louis Bayard, both BATMAN and DUDLEY from Harry Potter were set to find a murder in Washington Military Academy during the time of 1830s.

And oh man, what a spectacular performance!!! Harry Melling has over shone Christian Bale and I can think of no better one to portray Edger Allen Poe, the Enigma of Thriller and Horror writers! He definitely gave his best performance in his career. Vernon and Petunia would be flying high with pride!!
Take a bow Dudley, even Harry would be whistling!!

Another great thing was the cinematography. It is set in a natural environment in the heart of winter, uses natural lighting and a drab colour palette that creates a dark and ominous tone that creates the perfect environment for thriller and portrays the mysterious victorian era.

The Last conversation between Landon and Poe, will be embedded forever in my memory, for what those pale blue eyes held in them.

Weekend lazy afternoon in summer days, when the heat outside calls for something light to the tastebud. What's better than some Green Mango bhorta with heaps of chilli and lime juice drizzled over the mash??

Ever wondered where the concept Panta Bhaat came from?
We were always an agriculture based economy from the dawn of Bengal. So when farmers left for their fields in the early morning, they used up the left over rice, poured water over it and added some other condiments as a fill for their day. This meal didn’t only keep them filled but also kept the body hydrated under the scorching sun in the fields.
The whole economy today, is standing on the sweats of numerous farmers, factory workers, laborers, rickshaw pullers, remittance fighters. While the price of commodities hike everyday, they all fight harder to keep the wheel going.
Salute, to those souls.
