Channel i is a distinguished television network in Bangladesh, privately owned by the Impress Group, a significant conglomerate with a strong presence in various sectors including media, pharmaceuticals, aviation, and textiles. Under the guidance of Faridur Reza Sagor, Impress Group ventured into television in the early 1980s, marking its first steps with Impress Telefilm, which produced mini-seri
es and one-off shows for state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV). In June 1987, the vision for our own satellite channel came to fruition with the launch of Channel i. Initially broadcasting pre-recorded programs for 12 hours a day, we soon expanded to round-the-clock coverage, becoming the first digital channel in Bangladesh. Channel i is a strong competitor among several domestic satellite channels, holding the highest market share among non-terrestrial channels in Bangladesh for the past decade. We commenced satellite transmissions using PanAm Sat on October 1, 1999, extending our reach to most parts of Asia and Australia. As a media and news-based channel, we are committed to delivering high-quality content that resonates with our viewers. Our programming includes a broad range of genres including drama, movies, music, and national music competitions. We are particularly renowned for our engaging talk shows such as 'Tritioy Matra' and 'To The Point', and popular music competitions like 'Khude Gan Raaj' and 'Channel i Shera Kontho'. Channel i stands as a pillar in Bangladesh's media landscape, staying true to our commitment to inform, entertain, and inspire our audience. Our continuous efforts towards innovation and the quality of our content have cemented our place as a leading TV channel in Bangladesh.
