Bangladesh has brought in some international experience to tighten up its fielding game. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed James Pamment as the national team’s new fielding coach, with a contract running through to the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.

Pamment, 56, hails from England but made his coaching career in New Zealand. He’s no rookie, his most recent gig was as assistant coach for the IPL's Mumbai Indians, where he focused on fielding and running between the wickets. His coaching résumé also includes stints with New Zealand’s national teams and a brief role with the USA cricket squad.

He’s expected to join the Tigers before their upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe. “I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented team,” Pamment said.

His appointment ends a long vacancy after previous fielding coaches Shaun McDermott and Nick Pothas parted ways with BCB.

The Khulna Tigers secured their BPL T20 playoffs position by beating Dhaka Capitals in a six-wicket match held in Mirpur today.

As the chase leader Skipper Mehedi Hasan Miraz scored 74 runs while remaining not out off 55 balls which formed a key 67-run partnership with Alex Ross who made 22 runs. The powerful batting performance of Khulna Tigers led by Mehedi Hasan Miraz produced 19 overs of play after he hit five fours along with four sixes in his knock.

With their six-wicket triumph Khulna Tigers qualified for the playoffs and Durbar Rajshahi team failed to reach the playoffs despite their defeat. On Monday the eliminator match will see Khulna battle between Rangpur Riders or Chittagong Kings.

During the previous match Dhaka batters finished their innings at 123-9 with Tanzid Hasan Tamim making 58 runs from 37 balls. Khulna pulled off their crucial victory when William Bosisto and Hasan Mahmud took down two batters each to claim victory.

This financial milestone was driven by several key factors. The renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium led to a doubling of match-day revenue, reaching €248 million. Additionally, the club experienced a 19% boost in commercial revenue, amounting to €482 million. On the field, Real Madrid secured victories in the Champions League, La Liga, and the Spanish Super Cup, contributing to their financial success.

According to Deloitte's Football Money League report, this achievement has widened the financial gap between Real Madrid and other top-earning clubs. Manchester City earned €838 million, Paris Saint-Germain €806 million, and Manchester United €771 million during the same period. Collectively, the top 20 clubs generated a record €11.2 billion, marking a 6% increase from the previous season.
