Bangladesh has brought in some international experience to tighten up its fielding game. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed James Pamment as the national team’s new fielding coach, with a contract running through to the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.

Pamment, 56, hails from England but made his coaching career in New Zealand. He’s no rookie, his most recent gig was as assistant coach for the IPL's Mumbai Indians, where he focused on fielding and running between the wickets. His coaching résumé also includes stints with New Zealand’s national teams and a brief role with the USA cricket squad.

He’s expected to join the Tigers before their upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe. “I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented team,” Pamment said.

His appointment ends a long vacancy after previous fielding coaches Shaun McDermott and Nick Pothas parted ways with BCB.
