"The most glaring omission, however, is the BNP. রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রীয় ছাত্র সংসদ (রাকসু) নির্বাচন পেছানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে নির্বাচন কমিশন। শিক্ষার্থীদের দাবির প্রেক্ষিতে ভোটকেন্দ্র হল থেকে একাডেমিক ভবনে সরানো এবং ছবিসহ ভোটার তালিকা তৈরির সিদ্ধান্তও হয়েছে। প্রার্থীদের মনোনয়নপত্র সংগ্রহের শেষ সময় ২৬ আগস্ট থেকে বাড়িয়ে ৩১ আগস্ট করা হয়েছে। নতুন ভোটগ্রহণের তারিখ এখনো নির্ধারণ হয়নি, তবে রাতে নতুন তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হবে।

সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া উৎপাদিত পপ কালচারের একটা বৈশিষ্ট্য হইল, ভোক্তারা এটিকে মতাদর্শ-নিরপেক্ষ মনে করে। মেইনস্ট্রিম মিডিয়ারে আমরা যেমন জাজ বা ক্রিটিক করি, তার প্রত্যেকটা নিউজের শব্দচয়ন, শিরোনাম ও ফুটেজকে পরখ করি, তারে ‘সম্মতি উৎপাদন’র মেকানিজম হিসেবে দেখি— সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ার এই পপ বা ভাইরাল কালচারকে, নানা কারণে, আমরা সেভাবে দেখি না/দেখতে পারি না।

But he seemed to be had lost his mind, became power hungry, and destroyed his hard-earned image after becoming the head of an independent state.

Another interesting move would be putting decolonialism into practice, through reforming the Police Act of 1861 and 1898. Both are colonial remnants from the British Period, which were instrumental in building a police state. The decision to bringing every police under Body Cam, and introducing community policing and Human Rights training for police also seems promising. শাহবাগ ও শাপলা— কোনোটাই সরলরৈখিক, একাট্টা ও জল-অচল ধরনের বর্গ না। সমস্ত ‘সেক্যুলার’ ফোর্স শাহবাগ, ফলত খারাপ, ফ্যাসিস্ট ও জালিম; এবং সমস্ত ‘ইসলামিস্ট’ ফোর্স শাপলা, ফলত ভালো, গণতান্ত্রিক/কম ফ্যাসিস্ট ও মজলুম— শাহবাগ-শাপলার এই ধরনের তত্ত্বায়ন চরম মাত্রার ইতিহাসবিকৃতি ও ফলস কনশাসনেসের উপর দাঁড়ানো। এই তত্ত্বায়ন বাংলাদেশের জন্য ভয়াবহ।

A BNP leader in Gazipur has sued NCP Chief Organiser (northern region) Sarjis Alam for allegedly spreading false claims on social media linking the party to journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin’s murder. The complainant, Tanvir Siraj, said police have already arrested eight suspects and confirmed no political link to the killing. The court has ordered the CID to investigate.

স্বরাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল (অব.) মো. জাহাঙ্গীর আলম চৌধুরী জানিয়েছেন, এসব অস্ত্রের সন্ধান দিলে পুরস্কার দেওয়া হবে। কয়েক দিনের মধ্যে এ বিষয়ে আনুষ্ঠানিক ঘোষণা আসবে। গত বছরের অভিযানে অনেক অস্ত্র উদ্ধার হলেও বিপুল সংখ্যক আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র ও গোলাবারুদ এখনও নিখোঁজ।
