The Story of Punch the Monkey 🐒❤️
Punch is a young male Japanese macaque born on July 26, 2025, at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan.
Shortly after birth, his mother rejected him. Alone and vulnerable, the tiny monkey found comfort in a soft IKEA orangutan plush toy. He clung to it tightly, and those images quickly spread across the internet, turning him into a global sensation.
Today, Punch is gradually learning how to live with the rest of the troop. He’s picking up social skills, exploring his surroundings, and slowly finding his place among the other monkeys.
From a rejected baby holding onto a stuffed toy to a little monkey learning how to belong — Punch’s journey continues to warm hearts around the world. 🥹
