Two Bangladeshis Conquer English Channel After 37 Years
After thirty-seven long years, the waves of the English Channel once again bear the imprint of Bangladeshi triumph.
Two Bangladeshi swimmers — Nazmul Haque Himel from Kishoreganj and Mahfizur Rahman Sagar from Pabna — have made history by successfully crossing the English Channel in a relay swim, taking just 12 hours and 10 minutes to complete the challenging journey.
The last time a Bangladeshi swimmer achieved this feat was back in 1987, when Mosharraf Hossain crossed the channel. Now, decades later, Himel and Sagar have proudly revived the legacy of Bangladeshi open-water swimming.
