I'm not good at color grading. That's exactly why I'm posting this.
I’m trying to learn color grading properly, and this reel is part of that process.
If you know color grading or DaVinci Resolve, watch this and tell me what I’m doing wrong.
What should I learn first?
What mistakes do you notice?
How would you recommend learning color grading from the basics?
Comment, DM, or share any advice/resources you think could help.
I’m not trying to prove I’m good at it.
I’m trying to become good at it.

Even on the days when the sun doesn’t meet the sea, neither of them loses faith. They know some distances are only temporary, and when the time is right, they’ll paint the sky together again. Maybe life is the same, some people, dreams, and moments are simply waiting for the right sunset. 🤍

I went to an exhibition to see photographs, but honestly, I left thinking about something else.

I went there with a simple curiosity: how do photographers and artists turn a single frame into a story?

I thought I would spend an hour or two looking around and then leave.

The Liberation War of Bangladesh, the genocide in Gaza, personal stories, social stories, and moments that probably never made it to a single news headline.

Maybe that's what stayed with me the most.

Sometimes, it is simply about documenting something before it disappears.

And sometimes, the most powerful photograph is simply the one that makes you stop for a moment and look.

I've visited quite a few exhibitions over the years, but CHOBIMELA XI has been my favourite so far.

I came to look at photographs, but I left thinking a little differently about why I pick up a camera in the first place.

Which frame would have made you stop and look?

Turning a restaurant space into a visual experience.

This was a short-form food content project for Cielo Rooftop, where the goal was to showcase the food, drinks, and rooftop atmosphere through a fast-paced visual story.
For the production, I focused on:

-Establishing the overall restaurant environment
-Capturing food through detailed close-up shots
-Creating visual variety between wide, medium, and detail shots
-Using composition and framing to make the dishes visually appealing
-Building a clear sequence from curiosity to food reveal
-In post-production, the focus was on:
-Pacing the edit around the music and visual flow
-Creating smooth transitions between different dishes
-Balancing the brighter rooftop shots with darker food visuals
-Maintaining a clean and consistent colour treatment
-Ending with a simple brand-focused closing frame

The idea was simple - not just to show the food, but to make the viewer experience the atmosphere through the visuals.
Another project where I got to work across the visual production and post-production process.
What do you think matters most in food content - cinematography, editing, or colour grading?
