​কাল পহেলা ফেব্রুয়ারি। আমাদের আবেগের মাস শুরু। ১৯৫২ সালে ভাষা শহীদরা বুকের রক্ত ঢেলে দিয়েছিলেন, যাতে আমরা নিজের ভাষায় এই দেশটাকে গড়তে পারি।

​কিন্তু আজকের বাস্তবতার দিকে তাকান। ১৯৫২ সালে আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা লড়াই করেছিলেন যাতে এই দেশে মাথা উঁচু করে বাঁচতে পারি। আর আজ, ২০২৬ সালে এসে আমাদের সেরা সন্তানেরা লড়াই করছে যাতে যেকোনো মূল্যে এই দেশ থেকে পালাতে পারে। তাদের মেধা এখন আর এই দেশের কাজে লাগছে না।

​কেন এই মেধা পাচার?

​যখন একজন মেধাবী তরুণ দেখে যে, তার মেধার চেয়ে দুর্নীতি বেশি শক্তিশালী, অথবা যোগ্যতার চেয়ে রাজনৈতিক 'লিংক' বা মামা-চাচার জোর বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, তখন তার মস্তিষ্ক একটি করুণ সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়।

সব 'স্মার্ট' মানুষ যদি দেশ ছেড়ে চলে যায়, তবে "স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ" গড়বে কে?

​শুধু ফেব্রুয়ারিতে পতাকা উড়ানোই দেশপ্রেম নয়। সত্যিকারের দেশপ্রেম হলো এমন একটি ব্যবস্থা বা মেধাভিত্তিক সমাজ (Meritocracy) তৈরি করা, যেখানে একজন মেধাবী তরুণ মনে করবে যে তার স্বপ্নগুলো এই দেশেই পূরণ করা সম্ভব, বিদেশে নয়।

​১৯৫২ সালের লড়াই ছিল নিজের ভাষায় কথা বলার অধিকারের জন্য। আর ২০২৬ সালের লড়াই হোক মেধাবীদের এই দেশে সম্মানের সাথে থাকার অধিকারের জন্য।

​রবিবার, পহেলা ফেব্রুয়ারি। ফেব্রুয়ারি আমাদের অহংকারের মাস।

১৯৫২ সালে আমরা বুকের তাজা রক্ত দিয়েছিলাম শুধুমাত্র একটি অধিকারের জন্য— মায়ের ভাষায় কথা বলার অধিকার।

​কিন্তু ২০২৬ সালের এই আধুনিক সময়ে দাঁড়িয়ে নিজেকে একবার প্রশ্ন করুন তো, সেই ভাষায় সত্যিটা বলার সাহস কি আমাদের আছে?

নাকি আমরা প্রতিনিয়ত নিজেকে মিউট করে রাখছি?

​সমস্যাটা কোথায় জানেন?

মনোবিজ্ঞানে একটি মারাত্মক থিওরি আছে, Spiral of Silence (নীরবতার চক্র)।

বিষয়টি খুব সহজ, কিন্তু ভয়ংকর। যখন আপনি দেখেন আপনার চারপাশের মানুষ ভয়ে চুপ করে আছে, তখন আপনার মস্তিষ্ক আপনাকে সিগন্যাল দেয়, "তুমিও চুপ থাকো, নইলে তুমি একা হয়ে যাবে।"

একটি "স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ" কখনোই একটি "বোবা জেনারেশন" দিয়ে তৈরি হতে পারে না।

​আমাদের করণীয়:

সামনে ভাষার মাস। শহীদদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা ফুল দিয়ে নয়, বরং সেই কাজটি করে জানান যার জন্য তাঁরা প্রাণ দিয়েছিলেন।

কথা বলুন। সত্যটা বলুন। এমনকি যদি আপনার কণ্ঠস্বর কেঁপেও ওঠে।

We often feel frustrated when things are pending. We want the result now. Bangladesh is currently in the final- installation phase of a massive system update.
