Just a Few years ago Qurbani was simple.

In HUT, sellers didn’t use fancy names like “রাজা, টাইগার, শিক্ষিত গরু, বংশীয় গরু etc.” They just said "It’s a good healthy animal" take it. That was enough. But then social media entered. People in Dhaka got bitten by the showoff bug. Youtubers started promoting expensive stylish animals and qurbani became less about sacrifice and more about status.
Now it’s not about faith it’s about flex. Big animals, big names, big price. The real meaning of qurbani got lost somewhere between youtube thumbnails and tiktok reels.

The sad part? The middle class, the poor, the actual shareef people qurbani is getting out of their reach. And we call it ibadat?
