🇧🇩 From DIU to National Glory: Afeida Khandaker Crowned Winner of 'Woman in Sports Award 2025'

⚖️ Three Men Get Death Sentence for Gang R**e That Led Teen to Su***de

💔 In a landmark verdict that brings closure to a horrific 2017 case, a Netrokona Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal has sentenced three men to death for the gang r**e of a 14-year-old girl and instigating her su***de. The court also imposed 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined each convict Tk 1 lakh, with an additional three months imprisonment if the fine remains unpaid.

👨‍⚖️ The convicted men are Kawshik Chandra Sarkar alias Apu (23), former agriculture affairs deputy secretary of Netrokona Zila Chhatra League, Mamun (33) son of Abdur Gafur, and Sultan (30) son of late Miyachan, all from Thakurkona village.

😢 The tragedy didn’t end there. After the assault, the rapists threatened the victim’s family to cover up the incident. The next morning, the girl’s hanging body was discovered in another abandoned house nearby. Due to the perpetrators’ influence in the area, they managed to portray the death as su***de and forced the family to bury her without a proper autopsy.
