Protecting Yourself⦠From Yourself
I used to think the world was my biggest enemy. The people who judged me, the ones who left, the opportunities I never got. But over time, I realized something deeperā
most of the pain I carried wasnāt from the outside⦠it was from within.
It was the voice in my head whispering āYouāre not enough.ā
It was the urge to self-sabotage the moment something good came into my life.
It was the cycle of overthinking until I convinced myself of things that werenāt even real.
The truth? Sometimes, the hardest person to protect yourself from⦠is you.
But hereās the lesson Iāve learned: protecting yourself doesnāt mean shutting down or avoiding life. It means standing guard over your peace.
It means catching yourself when your thoughts spiral and choosing compassion instead of criticism.
It means walking away from habits that numb the pain but deepen the wound.
It means reminding yourself that healing takes time, and that slow progress is still progress.
Protecting yourself from yourself is not weaknessāitās the purest form of self-love.
And if no one told you today: you are worth protecting, even from your own storms.
