গরমের শুরুতে বরাবরই ডায়রিয়ার প্রকোপ দেখা দেয়। বিশেষজ্ঞরা বলছেন, এই সময়ে পানির চাহিদা বেড়ে যায়, বিপরীতে বিশুদ্ধ পানি সব সময় পাওয়া যায় না বলে পিপাসার্ত মানুষ দূষিত পানি পান করেন। ফলে পানিবাহিত এই রোগে এই সময়ে আক্রান্ত হয় বেশি।

তবে এবারের মতো একসঙ্গে এত বেশি রোগী আগে দেখা যায়নি বলে আইসিডিডিআর,বি কর্মকর্তারা জানিয়েছেন। রোগী সামলাতে বাইরে তাঁবু টানিয়েও দেওয়া হচ্ছে চিকিৎসা।
