In 1717, Johann Heinrich Schulze experimented with silver salts that darkened in sunlight He even formed letters using light, but sadly the image disappeared.
In 1800, Thomas Wedgwood tried capturing images on light-sensitive paper but the pictures faded away The dream was still incomplete.
Finally in 1826/27, Nicéphore Niépce created the first permanent photograph — “View from the Window at Le Gras” The exposure took 8 hours or more! It was blurry, imperfect — but it was history For the first time, light was captured forever.
In 1839, Louis Daguerre introduced the Daguerreotype process People could now visit studios and take portraits. Photography became public and commercial
