The government is committed to achieving a fair share of the water of transboundary rivers. The government has included this issue in its election manifesto with great importance.

BNP Chairman and Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman participated in a discussion meeting with expatriate Bangladeshis after arriving in Malaysia for the first time on an official visit.

He delivered a speech as the chief guest at the discussion meeting held at Hotel Shangri-La in Kuala Lumpur at 10:45 pm local time on Sunday, June 21, 2026. His wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman was present at the meeting.

BNP Chairman and Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman has arrived in Malaysia for the first time on an official visit at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. His wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman is accompanying him on this two-day visit.

Today, Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 8:35 pm local time, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia.

Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Zulkifli Hassan welcomed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the airport. Later, he was given a formal 'guard of honor' by the Malaysian government as per state protocol.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury and senior officials of the embassy were present at the time.
