মহান স্বাধীনতার ঘোষক শহীদ রাষ্ট্রপতি জিয়াউর রহমান বীর উত্তম এবং মরহুমা দেশনেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার মাজারে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন ও ফাতিহা পাঠ করেছেন গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশের নবনির্বাচিত রাষ্ট্রপতি মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।

বিএনপি চেয়ারম্যান ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী জনাব তারেক রহমানের নেতৃত্বাধীন গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মন্ত্রিসভায় চারজন মন্ত্রী ও দুজন প্রতিমন্ত্রী শপথ নিয়েছেন।

আজ ২১ আগস্ট ২০২৬, শুক্রবার সন্ধ্যায় বঙ্গভবনের দরবার হলে নবনিযুক্ত মন্ত্রী ও প্রতিমন্ত্রীদের শপথবাক্য পাঠ করান গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশের মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।

এর আগে একই অনুষ্ঠানে গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশের ২৩তম মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি হিসেবে শপথগ্রহণ করেন মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর। এরপর তিনি নবনিযুক্ত মন্ত্রী ও প্রতিমন্ত্রীদের দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের শপথ এবং গোপনীয়তা রক্ষার শপথ পাঠ করান।

এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিএনপি চেয়ারম্যান ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী জনাব তারেক রহমান।

শপথ গ্রহণকারী চার মন্ত্রী হলেন:
• বিএনপির জাতীয় স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য ও নরসিংদী-২ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য ড. আবদুল মঈন খান;

• বিএনপির কোষাধ্যক্ষ ও জামালপুর-১ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য রশিদুজ্জামান মিল্লাত;

• বিএনপির জাতীয় নির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য ও বান্দরবানের সংসদ সদস্য সাচিং প্রু জেরি;

• বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় পার্টির (বিজেপি) চেয়ারম্যান ও ভোলা-১ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য আন্দালিব রহমান পার্থ।

শপথ গ্রহণকারী দুই প্রতিমন্ত্রী হলেন—

• প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পররাষ্ট্রবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা হুমায়ুন কবির (টেকনোক্র্যাট);

• বিএনপির জাতীয় নির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য ও গাইবান্ধা-৪ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য মোহাম্মদ শামীম কায়সার লিংকন।

Fulfilling an election pledge, the government has initiated the provision of monthly honoraria for religious leaders serving at places of worship across all faiths in the country.

The Honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Tarique Rahman, formally inaugurated this program at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. Under this initiative, honoraria are being directly deposited into the bank accounts of Imams, Muezzins, and other religious leaders.

১৩ আগস্ট ২০২৬, বৃহস্পতিবার বাংলাদেশ সচিবালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত বৈঠকে রাষ্ট্রপতি পদে মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীরের নাম প্রস্তাব করেন বিএনপি চেয়ারম্যান ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী জনাব তারেক রহমান। জাতীয় স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্যরা সর্বসম্মতভাবে প্রস্তাবটি অনুমোদন করেন।

পরে প্রধানমন্ত্রী জনাব তারেক রহমানের কাছ থেকে রাষ্ট্রপতি পদে মনোনয়নপত্র গ্রহণ করেন মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।

রাষ্ট্রপতি পদে নির্বাচনকে সামনে রেখে ইতোমধ্যে দলের মহাসচিব ও জাতীয় স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য পদ থেকে পদত্যাগ করেছেন মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।
